hard at work....NOT!

Hey you,

I just realised that it has been nearly a month since I last blogged.

I have been really busy with school, or rather busy with lazing around that I am turning into a couch potato. Actually half the time I have been doing work, watching tv all in one position.....on the bed, and using the headboard as my back support.

I am really getting irritated with me, like as if I have lost my spine. Being too free and having just 2 days of school is making me super lazy, and I hate it.
I think if I go on like this for just another month, my muscles will start to degenerate..really.

my bed as my permanent work space. Studying while being updated with latest fashion.

Where has the 'always on the go', 'cannot stay home', 'multi tasker' me gone to??

GIVE that person back to me NOW!

Anyways,

in the spirit of getting myself moving again, I have opted to studying at coffee joints. As much as
I frown upon all those students clad in Ts and shorts making a house of these joints studyg day and night, I think it is the best option for me so far.

But before I 'park' myself and get down to studying, I decided to dress up and see where my feet (on the accelerator pedal) takes me.
I really miss dressing up.

I decided to put on my blazer, which I haven't worn yet (was hoping that it was rainy, hence won't seem like I am having a fever donning a blazer in this weather).

Pinkish blazer, black Marks & Spencer basic T, braided leather belt, House of Harlow bangle

I drove on and on, and thought it would be a nice treat to get myself a bootie. I've always wanted one. And I have been good. Didn't shop the whole of Jan as promised....and now Feb is ending. Just got a Ray Ban avaitor in Feb (but it was a gift fr hubby), so it doesn't count as me shopping.

Yay....so I shopped today with no guilt.

And I got myself a bootie at 50% off!!

My Nine West brown leather bootie.
I somehow noticed clothes still have navy blue and red combi , but more into denim blue. But the spring colours are slowly showing.....pastel pink and blue, bright green and brighter oranges and pinks.

But being on the safer side and very being rather conservative with colours, I am creating my own combi of nudes, brown, blue and dark red for the POP.

I saw stuff I liked at Topshop, Dorothy and also Mango....but I walked away. At Stradivarius, due to the me colours, I just could't resist not entering. The whole shop had tan, camel and blue combi everywhere.

I was telling myself, if I am not buying, I will at least be trying. Really you should try this, it gives you the satisfaction without any damage done to your wallet.

Hence, there I was, with a load of stuff (the sales assistants here do not care if you had a whole pile of clothes in your hand). They will happily point you to the fitting room without even looking at you.

This crop pants were to die for it is SUPER comfy. I would have bought it in all colours. But they only had 3 shades of brown.

The camel jersey cardi was super duper comfy, but I gave it a pass.

I like this brown denim like bottom, but again browns.....
After all the the trying, I just got myself these:

A demin wired headband and a dark red basic T.
Don't get me wrong, the stuff I tried all fitted perfectly, but I will just wait for March before making more purchases? Don't like the guilt.

March is just next week anyway. But someone just told me about colourful harem crops at ZARA.
Perhaps....

just perhaps, I may just get something sooner.

Lets just see how strong I will be when put to the test again! hah.

For now I just adore my booties, perfect colour and style.

See you later.

going to school

Hey you,

With school starting I have been rather busy...NOT.

I so wanna think of myself as a full time student and a part time housewife but somehow schooling has been masked with lots of cooking and kid minding.

It is so tiring, I so salute all you lot who are full time mommies.

Well, with school, it keeps me sane,

meeting with friends

studying gossiping in class

and the pre going to school is what excites me most.

the dressing up, at least I still do have an opportunity for that.

Sometimes I feel like I am over dressed amongst those in t shirts and jeans.

But I work with the mantra,

There is no ugly woman, only LAZY ones.

Please remember that, dressing up is a sign of you respecting the people around you, especially respecting yourself too.

So these are what I have been wearing to school these days:

The black & white
white ZARA shirt with black cardi from Monsoon and flared bottom from Marks & Spencer
 School girl basic:
Fuchsia Lacoste polo T and denim skirt from Aust

Slinky maxi dress from poplook.com, red tshirt Sportsgirl
 Block Colours:
Fuschia top from poplook.com, khaki pants from Mango and mustard bag from Venice

Dressing up makes me feel good and motivated to go to school.

More dressing up days to come, Yay!

See you later

Mustard

Hey you

It's been a long first week of the New Year.

Running errands and getting kids ready for school, getting books and other nitty grittys sorted out is already taking a toll on me.

Being a 'full time mom' is no joke. I am so glad I will start my studies again soon...at least it will keep my mental state active again.

Anyhow, in between being super bz, I still managed to sneak sometime off for myself. At least it keeps me sane.

So I was out, minding my own business to get stuff for kids, when I saw the huge 'Final Sale' sign outside MANGO.
I was trying to be good and was just skirting the shop looking at the mannequins. Looking at the prices slashed by more than 30%, i was super glad I didn't get some of the dresses previously.

I thought no harm getting in the store to survey.

Than I saw the mustard coloured cardigan!

Oh....and I checked the price, it was slashed by 40% and I thought I deserve it, it's like fated. Didn't get it than coz it was too pricey and I thought I didnt need it then.

But now, it's so cheap, I definitely can do with my fav coloured cardi.
I was on a roll, I piled a few clothes and off to the fitting room. They all looked perfect.

But, I was determined to not spend more than $50.

I had to be strong.

I zoomed to the cashier, got 2 items and cost me $49.

Target met.

Nope I have not started buying anything yet since 2011.  That day was just 2 days shy of 2011.

Here I was donning it the next day to meet up with friends:

Mustard cardi, white shift dress with black tights. Even my hp cover matches.

With my matching mustard colored shoes from Boulevard

The next day I received this:

My final order for the year from http://thepoplook.com/.

I had to send back most of the items due to sizing but I donned this close to midnight on 31st Dec 2010

Bright pink headband from Sereni & Shentel

What a way to end 2010.

See you later.

outer wear shopping

Hey you,

I have been busy and somehow waiting for 2011 is taking ages.

I normally love it when times crawls or somehow comes to a standstill. But for now it is more for trying to appease myself for all the shopping I have done in 2010 and not add more to 2010 damage to my bank acct.

But a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do when you see what you have always wanted hanging on a hangar by the door of a shop or on a mannequin, somewhat like luring you to get it.

It was just a holiday outing on Christmas day that we as a family and MIL n SIL went out for lunch.
Decided to dress up a little, hence,

Went to this place famous for cheap Chinese food and lots of stand alone clothe shops, many opened by local young designers. I've always attributed that place for teenagers and clothes there are either small sized or too funky for old me.

After lunch and while waiting for other to finish, me who can't stay still decided to walk around. Bad move!
Ended in this little store, which attracted me coz it wasn't filled with flashy clothes but muted coloured ones. The pieces were all simple, well cut clothing.
Even though 2 of my kiddos were with me, I managed to try on a few pieces and got my hands on these 2 shift dresses.

i like the vintage like material

Well, It really looks good when it is ironed out properly. I liked it for it's simplicity. Pairing it with leggings and heels and it is perfect.

I was done with shopping, I thought, just when I saw the jacket on the hanger, waving to me, like as if under a spell, I walked into the shop, grabbed the jacket, put it on, and the rest is history.

It was the only one, wow so exclusive and I got my hands on another one.

I hate myself for giving in to temptation, but really I am so elated to finally get my hands on these, have been on my wanted list for sometime now.

Made up of cottony soft material and a satin like one in the centre.

Super soft chiffon like material, even though the sales girl said 'something like silk' coz it didn't cost over $150
I keep telling myself to STOP shopping, but I just did again yesterday. Addicted.

My new year resolution : Less shopping, more savings. To only shop once in 3 months a month and to cap each buy at no more than $200.

Well, I better keep this resolution as I had just announced to the world and it is rather realistic. SO bring on 2011, I am ready.

Happy New Year. Here's to good health, good company & good styling.

Hope it will be better than 2010 for all of us.

See you.

I'm back

Hey you,

Apologies for the hiatus.

It has been a crazy week since I got back. Running around to get kiddos ready for sch.

I sure had a stupendous time on the road trip and loads of bonding time with family.

We were all super excited about my drive to KL with a target of reaching latest by 1pm just nice for lunch. Trying to escape the jam, we ended with a more massive one and I practically sang for a whole hour to entertain kids.

Well, it's not that I have such sweet singing voice, but entertaining coz they were laughing at me. But I must say I can sing, really.

We reached KL only at 5pm and I was super worried that I would miss my head bands from Alaiin as we had made arrangements for delivery to the hotel concierge. But I was super releived to know that the delivery time has been changed to between 9 - 10 at night.

I kept calling the concierge from my room at 10pm, 10.15...10.30...finally at 11pm it was delivered.

I changed, from my PJs and ran out of the room, and to the concierge, got them and put them on straight away =).

Don't you just love the burst of colours and the bling.

KL was as always bustling, with holiday shoppers and traffic jams.

I wasn't much into shopping somehow, more of hoping for a restful holiday and just enjoying the food in KL.

Langkawi was peaceful and the country life was perfect, especially for kids who were amazed to see cows crossing the streets.

"oh look...the cows are free, where are the cages?" they excalimed.

"Watch out! they are crossing the road. Where are the cow crossings?" one sounding so worried for the cows.

 Ahhhh....I miss the tranquility already.

I got back home super tired.
So much for a holiday. I think I need a foot massage and spa treatment.

But I just came back from a resort, so much for rest. Well, I always treated holidaying with kids as a working trip.

But the fun you get with them is really priceless.

Anyhow, I got home nearly at 2am, and was super excited to see a package for me....

My clothes are finally here and another postal advice for the shoes.

After 2 days, I finally got them. I was praying super hard that the shoes fit.

It is the first time I am ordering shoes online you see.
Shoes from Zappos, they have LOADS of shoes

My son was super excited as he got exactly the same thing and yes it FITS, perfectly.
I wore it straight away with my chinos and white shirt. I must have looked the most well dressed...

at the market! Hah!

I will be posting on the clothes I got soon.

I am shag.

With hole in pocket...

But happy with my online buys.

Be careful ya,

coz

it is so so addictive.

And I am on a high. Time for some cold turkey treatment.

Well...soon.

For now, I'll be on a high.

Running errands...as always

Hey you,

I have been rather silent these days, coz I have been super busy.

So much things have happened when I am just suppose to have a leisure week of running around and building up the excitement to my road trip cum OVER-sea holiday.

I was rather pissed with the eventful week (a negative one), which was not expected and trying to get things in order. Hence, in such lousy mood, I haven't been shopping (which is good), but....

I wasn't home when my long awaited order for my savior, a face cream came and it has been lying in a post office, awaiting my arrival. I AM gonna get it now...after this for sure.
I was also rather irritated to know that there are 2 more deliveries which I will miss next week as I will be away.

My shoes!

Anyhow, I can't wait to arrive in KL tom to know that my head bands from Alaain will be waiting for me. Since I will be in KL, why not order stuff online and have it sent to the hotel, hence saving on postage!
Smart eh?
I ordered 3, 2 of which are custom made. Yay!

Of course, I will visit Mimpikita to get some nice chiffon kaftan. I am already excited.

After 2 days of shopping spree we will be spending some relaxing time in Langkawi.

I will upload as many photos as I can, ya.

As for now....

I need to get my face cream, get monies changed and get some travel toiletries.

What to wear?

My tailored yellow linen shirt, belted scarf, Monsoon tweed bermudas and Coach leather tote.

                                                                                OR

Same top but with navy blue cardi from Mango, Promod necklace and red satchel.
                                                                                OR

Stripy short dress from Sportsgirl, black cotton blazer with flower brooch from Dorothy Perkins, grey jeans from Zara & mustard colour tote from Nine West.

Ooo.....it's so exciting to dress up even to run errands.

See you later.

December 4, 2010

guilt HAUL

Hey you,

I have fulfilled all my kiddos promises past 2 months, but I have broken all promises I made.

Especially those on shopping online and real shopping!

I am really guilty . But what can I do. Perhaps I need to go to some SA (shopaholic anonymous)!

And it doesn't really help when you have kiddos who are happy when their mama looks good, hence they always chorus,

"Wow, you look sooo nice in that and this, you should get it all!"
when i am trying out clothes.

To date, in the past 2 weeks I have made 2 more online purchases and a few more offline.

To counter the guilt, I have showered kiddos with loads of toys and books too.

My bank account is really injured, near death!

Well, It's no use weeping after money spent,  I guess I just have to enjoy my haul to make my money spent well worth it.

So here it is..

I've always wanted a red bag, but I guess a red dress would be cheaper, hence, got this instead.

Block colours. Red dress from BYSI. With black stockings and nude clogs it will be PERFECT!

Leopard print or rather it looked more of Cheetah top from BYSI.
I wore this top the very next day I bought it. In the rain I was standing outside a shop with huge window glass display. Every passer by, was giving me a double take, I was wondering why, till.....

I turned and saw the mannequin at the window display donning the same get-up. I must be lookin like a real life walking mannequin!
How embarrasing!

I could have gotten some revenue for a walking advert!

I also got these....

Now you know why I am guilty, these are on top of my online ones, more clothing, shoes and head band too.

Oh well, all these still better than a single luxury bag I guess.

Happy shopping you all.

See you later.
