Blue & Yellow

Somehow, my polyvore is not co-operating, and have been trying for days to publish this set. Just decided to copy the picture instead and manually post it.

I am so into block colours and trying to be bold enough to wear them. Especially this yellow & blue combi. I am so loving it. Hopefully I will find the right yellow & blue  and be brave enough to walk the streets.

ALL dressed up

Hey you,

A promise is a promise.

And if it is a promise to kids, you jolly well make sure you fulfill it, coz from the moment you wake up...

"Ma.. we are going out today right?...you promised....."

And that was at 7am, when I are getting ready to go to the market of a call from grandma.

Yup, to market with granny.

Being the eldest grandchild.....and also the first to give her great grand kiddos, I knew from young that
I was her fav.

From the overseas trips, to the clothes & chocs that I always get.

Hence, it is time I pay back, and be nice.

Well, we went to market....2 at that, coz she believed the fish at that market was better than with meat and vice versa.

I got home from the markets, tired.....and

"Ma..... do we bathe now and change....you promised..."

There we go again. There is no way I can change the day of outing, tired or not, a promise is a promise.

Cooked, got ready and we were out....to catch a live show.

As a promise to someone, I decided to raid my hubby's wardrobe, and left home looking like this:

His linen blue shirt Naracamicie, Italy, his Tommy Hilfiger pleated belt,  his classic watch, my Zara pants & brogues. Not forgetting my new red bag & bangles.

Of course I always expect kids to be dressed appropriately too. Never in T shirts & shorts.

Toddler's Red shoe & boy's moccasin from Start-Rite, England and girl's Barbie high cut shoes.

Kids wear:

Denim top from Cotton on and checkered bermudas from Zara. Accessories from Promod.

Well, dressing well & right starts from young. Hence, I believe that as parents, we need to lead by example. It's not about the brand but the presentation and styling.

You know what I heard when I was at Topshop.

Overheard, one sales assistant telling another, " Look at that, she dresses so nice, & her kids are wearing fashionable stuff too!"

Yes, she was talking about me & me kiddos *Blush*....hehehehehe.

Anyhow, I did not buy all those stuff for kids just, even though somehow it really looked like all those that the are wearing are in fashion now. All items were bought more than a year & a half ago, except the tops were bought in Australia when I was there. It cost me only A$10 each.

See, clothes do not need to be expensive to look nice.

Anyhow, my kids, especially my youngest was elated to watch the live show:

Yup, all the dressing up for Dora!

I am on a hunt for socks. I totally regretted not getting them when I was in Aust. I went all over, and didn't find any to my liking. But while I was at it, I took the opportunity to try on some tops.

Silky top from Dorothy Perkins

From Topshop.
I have to admit something......

I ended up buying BOTH!

It's all coz kids went, "It's so nice...you should buy it."

Well, they're like that coz, they wanted to get out of the fitting room and get to their stuff....

Toys!

I happily, paid....but now I am feeling guilty. Really am.

My socks search was futile, only found the perfect black thin socks,
in the Man's Dept.
Oh well, I guess I have to raid hubby's drawers for socks too!

Now, I really hope the powder & foundation stain on the white collar of hubby's shirt will disappear.

I am hoping, if not, that will be the end of my attempt in menswear.

Wish me luck!

See you later.

not so BLUE

Hey you,

I got tired of online shopping (not really)....

and decided to go around to update myself with latest trends here.

I had purposefully gone to fetch kids from movies earlier in the hope of getting to do some window shopping.

Since it was the weekend, and the place will be crowded, I decided to show off my House of Harlow pieces.

I was torn between wearing a dress, hence lady-like  or my normal smart get up of pants and shirt.

Decided to incorporate both and came up with this:

Still feminine looking with the fluid blue top Forntieer and linen pants from Class Milan. House of Harlow Sunburst Pendant in cream and peacock bangle. Studded bag from Celine.
Not forgetting my blue head band from Álainn.

To complete the smart look, I donned my blue & white brogue from Saxone, Italy.

All blue and ready to go.

I had expected the mall to be filled, but to my horror there was a traffic jam a kilometre away, coz people were trying to get to the car park!

Patiently, I waited (I was cursing, coz traffic jam meant less time for shopping!!) finally, got a parking spot on the 7th floor of the carpark.

Somehow, the excitement died when every store I entered was full of people, worst seeing people dressed liked they were going to the wet market.

Common people, look at the mirror before you leave home, stop going to the malls in your PJs!

Anyhow, people were starring at my youngest kid, coz even she was immaculately dressed!

Shame on all you grown ups!

I can proudly proclaim, that I didn't buy anything, thanks to the crowd which put me off the shopping.

Forever 21 had a queue close to the entrance, and Topshop was filled with husbands and boyfriend alike filling up the seats and every corners while waiting patiently for their other half.
Poor guys looks super bored.

I miss the times in Australia when I could shop at ease with no one jostling you all the time.

Next time I go to town, it will be on a Monday or Tuesday morning. Than I can have the store all to myself.

Till then.

See you later.

Narnia...NOT!

Hey you,

After looking through fashion magazines and blogs, I got interested in trying to be feminine (no I am fine, but normally clad in the non nonsense pants and shirt)...

and trying to don on dresses again.

I do realise that I have lots of them after looking through photos from yester years, but since wearing it just once, these dresses have be out of sight...

hence, out of mind.

I decided, to venture into the inner depth of my wardrobe. My mistake was...

to not have locked the bedroom door.

I was literally, in the wardrobe (nope, I do not have a walk IN wardrobe)....

I really climbed into the wardrobe.....but as soon as I was in,

kids decided to pop in the room.

"MAMA.....WHAT are you doing????"

"Oh....is it like Narnia, you enter another world from the wardrobe???!!"

Before they could all follow me in....

I came out,

With these in my hands.

No kids....I did not find another world like Narnia.

Instead I found some of my long lost dresses...YAY!!

There is a story behind everyone of them...

Modern cheogsam with beautiful embroidered flowers. Went around hunting for ethic wear for work as everyone was dressing up ethnic.

My chiffon flowy dress in baby doll cut. A last minute Eid buy.
Pedro del Hierr:
My Pedro del Hierro silk dress. Which my hubby insisted I get coz it's 'different'. I just think coz iy's MY colour.
Massimo Dutti:
My floral dress from Massimo Dutti. I remembered a newscaster wearing this on TV and ran to the store the next day to grab it.

Custom made vintage like dress. I remembered how I was trying to fit myself into this S size dress and the shop owner had to do alterations on the spot coz I wanted to wear the dress for my debut stage appearance 2 hours later! Too afraid to try it on now.

"I wish I could get more dresses by climbing into my magical wardrobe...then I can really stop shopping".

Maybe.

"Wishes do come true you know", my kids chorused.

"Not with Narnia, but with HARRY POTTER, coz that's real magic!!" hahahahah

They are just so into magic these days, coz they'll be watching the movie in a couple of hours time.

Kids.

See you later.

more has Arrived! head bands too...

Hey you,

All the waiting has finally ended, the last of my online purchases has finally arrived.

The excitement of ripping the box apart, the suspense,

it's all so exciting.

At times, you wonder why you've bought the items, coz they don't seem to come to expectations, while at times, you just can't help smiling all day and taking photos of it, till,

Your kid wakes you up from reality and snaps at you,

"Mama, what are you doing? Taking photos of all the stuff you get by post and smiling all day long?"

Well, maybe they just want to bring back their old mama, the one who is more sane and normal.

Anyhow,

in the past weeks, I have received:

My House of Harlow stuff!!

But was disappointed to find a depression on the white leather of the pendant. But... having to pay for postage to have it exchanged and more so waiting for another agonizing 2 weeks before I get to wear it..

Forget it! it is safer with me.

Also, my coveted red bag which I had waited patiently for it to be in stock again from http://www.modcloth.com/

Fabulous isn't it! It is from The Cambridge Satchel Company (U.K)...makes you want to be a student again....oh well, I will be still. Hah!

The smell of leather fills up my wardrobe. Really good workmanship.

Hence , my lonely mustard coloured stachel from Venice will now have company:

Also, my long awaited headbands from álainn is here!! Yay!
It came in nice packaging and the head bands are of good good quality and workmanship.

so pretty isn't it?

Now I am already thinking of getting a bright red and green one.

Will put some thought on customizing it. Perhaps will be kind enough to get them for my girls too.

I am just ecstatic with all my haul.

But for now I should be on hiatus from online shopping, till next year... oooo so long.

Wait....

Oh...next year is only about a month away.

I will survive.

See you later.

It's Eid

Hey you,

Eid Mubarak.

Tiring day,

cooked....

visiting.....

dressing up.

I wanted to wear this....

black dress with leopard print from Melbourne, themed with cardi and belt. Can be wore with black stockings

but, wearing black on Eid....and going to granny's house, they don't go hand in hand

and the dark blue BF cardi doesn't seem to look too nice.

If only I had bought the mustard coloured, cardi at Mango.

Should I wear this instead?

pinkish dress with grey detailing to be themed with grey tights.
But, I don't feel pink today...

So I decided to go with white, a pure look.

This was what I wore

White shift dress from Dorothy Perkins, black tights, orange sling made to be clutch.Add string of pearls for a touch of class.

Hope you had a good day styling yourself pretty.

See you later.

a Kid in a Candy store

Hey you,

Today would be the first time since I came back that I am going to town.

I change the venue to meet a friend for lunch, so that I could get a sneak peak at what the malls here have in store,

basically to get myself updated with the latest fashion, after being deprived for sometime. I kept changing the meeting time, from a supposed brunch to a lunch.

Giving all sorts of excuses so that I could get myself ready on time.
This would be the first time, after sometime I will be seen in the public, the public in town no less.

I decided to keep true to myself and put lots some effort in dressing up, but
this time in all stuff that I bought online.

So, I left home like this,

Online buy tops from poplook, Zara pants, clogs from Sportsgirl

Yes I now have 2 House of Harlow bangles

People were commenting on my blazer and army green slouchy shirt, how good a combi it was.
I felt good =), coz previously I wasn't pleased with the colour of the shirt.

I was 10minutes early, and in that time I managed to go to Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, Mango, Espirit and Stradivarius.
A newbie in town (actually since May 2010), and learn that it was another of those shops from Spain, in the likes of Massimo, Zara, Mango and now Stradivarius.

Wow, I was super excited, scanning all the clothes from one shop to another.
Keeping a list of "I need want, I need want, I want".

I really have missed out a lot.
Real shopping is so so different from online shopping. Feeling the fabric with your fingers.....

the adrenaline rush and excitement!

My excitement short lived, saved by my phone ringing, my friend's here.

I met him, had lunch (which was nothing fantastic), but the company, updates of latest gossip and work (yeah right!).
Time passed and soon we parted, and off I went to the ATM to get a certain amount of money.
Telling myself, I should not use cards, hence not going over limit even though I have like over 10 pieces of clothing that I had my heart on.

I took a deep breath.....

and entered Topshop,
kept telling myself, "Be strong..."

I came for the purpose of getting a camel/nude colour blazer.Nothing more.

I was so glad Topshop had lots of winter collection which is useless here, so I happily moved on to Dorothy Perkins.
I saw a few maxi dresses and this very nice shift dress which I can wear for formal occasions.
I took them to the fitting room.

Simple embellished shift dress

Floral maxi dress, in light and flowy chiffon
I really liked how the maxi floral dress looked on me, casual yet dressy.
Finally, my head took over my heart.

I settled for the off white embellished shift dress.
Class in Simplicity.

I promise the dress, if we are meant to be,

in a fortnight,

i will bring her home.
Promise.

I decided to give Mango a miss, even though there were a few boho dresses I would love to get my hands on.
More so the mustard coloured cardigan. ooooohhhh so nice.

But i walked away,

stronger.
So proud of myself.

But I couldn't go off without the blazer, I really need to pop back to that new shop, Stradivarius.
Reminded me of Promod, at a friendlier price.

They have blazers of all colours, fabric, design....more importantly price.

I only took with me 3 blazers and a very nice looking dress.

Tried the grey, beige & camel coloured blazers

Nice to be worn with leggings or knee high boots

Luckily, they were understaffed and no one could help me to the fitting room,

if not, I would have grabbed a white top,  two maxi dresses and a coupled of pants too.

I really liked the stripey dress, but.....

I walked quickly to the cashier, and not let my eyes linger off.
Paid for the blazer and went away.

I did not even dare go to the other floors.

Even though I did good with just 2 pieces of clothing, I may still be guilty.

Coz I ended up buying this for my kids:

A dozen donuts, 11 choc for kids n 1 cheese for me
All smiles.

I will surely be back.

With a greater vengeance.

Soon.

See you later.

Child's Play

Hey you,

These days after the exams, kids are busy racking their cupboard full of unopened boxes of toys....
thanks to daddy dearest!

I was also excited when boxes are opened and I will linger around to 'monitor' them, making sure they do not destroy the stuff....yeah rite!

My 1st born was never good at staying still, she's always on the move.
But when she told me over skype..."I got a huge lego set, it cost over two hundred and daddy dearest bought it for me..."

I was like....yah....so much for getting the wrong kinda toys for the wrong kids....
Only my prince can be patient enough to finish a huge set of lego.

The lego box

Surprisingly, after a day of silence, she showed this to me:

I was super proud of her, now the completed set is sitting proudly on top of her cupboard.

Since the exams were over and results has been out, my kids have done me proud, in my absence, they proved their worth.

I decided to reward them, and off we went to the toy store on my wedding anniversary...go figure.

They all had their toys of choice in their hands, until I saw this...

Wow a doll house! I've always wanted it when I was young.

This series 'The Slyvanian's Families' collection has all kinds of house and families!

Somehow, I managed to cajoled the girls ,

"Mama this is soo expensive ...", they chorused.

"It's ok, you guys deserve it" I replied quickly.

...so much for trying to convince them so that I could bring the huge box home.

Happy with my buy for myself the girls, I added a family to the house.

The Rabbit Family
I was beaming, carrying the boxes to the cashier.

We got home,

I ripped the box apart and started assembling the house and all the miniatures table, chairs, cup, saucers......
Of course, I got my girls involved.....really.

I promised the girls, I will add on to the collection every month.

A bedroom set, bathroom, shopping malls, the list goes on.

This is soo exciting!

November 11, 2010

it's ARRIVED!....again

Hey you,

I am so so glad that I am finally done with my final assignment. Somehow trying to get it done at home, trying to juggle cooking and tending to the kiddos was so so tough.

There were moments that I just felt like giving up. It is not the 5000 word count which was tough, but trying to piece the essay together and making sense of it.

I was also rather surprised with myself how I have not gone off to the malls here since I got back. I am amazed at how I could just sit at home.

Than again it would be a lie to say I haven't really been out shopping....

the 'out' part is true but the 'shopping' is technically not true.

I must admit, while trying to get my assignment done, I have

many a times, 'wondered' off to other website....

online shopping - I have been guilty of that, and now I know why I can be happy at home, coz I have actually had lots of

retail therapy.

My 1st parcel from net shopping last week arrived today.

I was at the hair salon, getting my hair done when i I received a call from home,

"Mama, you have received a present, from another country!...maybe it's another bangle!"

exclaimed my girl. They thought there are Santa somewhere out there giving presents to people who has been working hard! You could hear it in her voice, she was very excited.

I was counting the minutes, while getting hair treatment, have been at the salon for past 2 hrs already.
Was trying to guess, which of the stuff arrive today.....

Got home, and saw this....

Still intact
I was surprise this came first when I ordered this last! The website.

Very light cotton black jacket. The pockets at the side add character

Doesn't look fantastic but with tights and tying the ribbon at the back, it looks nice.

The cropped gray jacket is nice, with this green sleeveless top

Also looks good with the polka dot top. The star brooch adds character to the jacket.
I am rather happy with what I got, but these clothes are made for the Japanese & Korean petite bodies but they do not come in sizes. So not recommended if you have a larger frame.

I already have many other stuff in 'my shopping bag' here, http://www.yesstyle.com, waiting for these stuff to come before I decide to push the 'proceed to checkout' button.

I'll try to hang on...

for now, hoping to get the rest of my stuff soon!!

Oh my 2nd DHL box arrived! BUT....

the glass on the printer is broken to pieces! Oh well...

See you later.
